Factors that tend to Decrease CO in the Breathing Space:

Large breathing volume

Low CO input rate

"Looseness" of boundary walls (high air changes per hour value)

Decreased CO concentration in outside air

Decreased human exhalation of CO generated by metabolism of heme compounds, halogenated methanes, etc.

Human metabolism of CO -----> CO₂

Decreased altitude, increased atmospheric pressure

CO scrubbers, if present
