Blood Pressure, Dr. D. Penney
Problems and Precautions in Measuring Blood Pressure:
The inflatable cuff must be held at heart level
Wider cuff must be used to measure pressure in thighs, or in very fatty arms
Prolonged cuff inflation may provoke generalized reflex vasodilation
Should measure B.P. in both arms (major differences may indicate vascular obstruction)
