Module 7, Turbulence & Rheology, Dr. D. Penney
To understand the concept of turbulence, how it may be predicted, used diagnostically, where it normally occurs, and its short - and long - term effects. To gain an understanding of the way in which blood flows through large and small vessels, why its behavior is complex, and how its flow characteristics are advantageous to large, energetic, warm - blooded animals, as ourselves.
To be familiar with cell plasma in homogeneity in the circulation, whether resulting from flow forces, or lack thereof. To examine briefly several circulatory design questions, the pros and cons, and the necessary compromises reached in achieving a workable circulatory system.
