Ventricular fibrillation: Either coarse or fine fibrillation is seen (Figure 27). It results from chaotic ventricular depolarization. Like ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation is corrected by administering an electrical shock over the heart in order to depolarize the whole heart simultaneously (cardioversion).
