Normal sinus (SA nodal) rhythm is defined as a rate of 60-100 per min (Figure 14, Table 22). Bradycardia is a rate of <60 per min (Figure 15), while tachycardia is a rate of >100 per min.
Resting bradycardia or tachycardia is not necessarily pathological; endurance athletes frequently show resting heart rates less than 60 per min. During exercise, of course, heart rate can reach 180 beats per min or more.
