Figure 2.05 - Development of the Semilunar Valves. Pads of endocardial tissue develop at the valve sites. When partitioning of the truncus is complete, three pads of endocardial tissue appear in the aorta and pulmonary artery. These pads are shaped and thinned out to form the semilunar aortic and pulmonary valves.
