Carbon Monoxide at the "Woodward Dream Cruise - 2000" (cont.)
"Pre-Cruise Night", Friday, August 18th:
(All measurements were made with the hand-held CO monitor, at waist level, approx. 8 ft. from the curb. Traffic was extremely heavy.)
8:40 p.m., Northwest corner of Coolidge Highway and Woodward - CO conc. varied from 18-30 ppm, with a single spike at 64 ppm, over period of 6-8 minutes.
9:30 p.m., West side of Woodward between the MacDonald's restaurant (at Coolidge) and Webster - CO conc. varied from 12-18 ppm, over a period of 8 minutes.
9:40 p.m., East side of Woodward between Webster and Northwood Boulevard, between 2-6 ft. from the roadway - CO conc. varied from 7-12 ppm.
9:45 p.m., East side of Woodward, sampling 3-4 feet behind the exhaust pipe of a '60's muscle car at idle - CO conc. rose to 330+ ppm within 6 seconds, and it was still rapidly climbing.

Looking northwest across Woodward just south of Webster
